Introduction

Gryfskand has been producing charcoal since 1905 and is now one of the largest producers in the world. Gryfskand has four factories across Poland and Ukraine.

Objectives

Together we decided to deploy our Charcoal Control System (CCS) tool for all four factories. This helps the company see what improvements can be made by giving a score to these four pillars of no deforestation, no exploitation, full transparency and full tractability of the supply chain. The factories are normally visited each year, and the CCS is updated, depending on the original CCS score of the factory.

Our Work

Gryfskand’s sources are checked back to the forest using the Charcoal Control System (CCS) that we put into place. Recommendations are given to improve the different aspects linked to responsible charcoal production. Following up on the CCS, we check the progress made over time.
