  • Develop communication strategy for Indonesia, including work plan and budget development, in alignment with the global communications strategy;
  • Develop strategies to grow audience base and deepen audience engagement in Indonesia that includes, audience analysis and engagement, content strategy and content planning and production;
  • Produce, coordinate and support the creation of content for communication tools and platforms (e.g. press releases, publications, social media posts). Generate compelling examples of how Earthworm, its members/partners, bring about change on the ground;
  • Build relationships with external media and ensure that our work is known in the region;
  • Support of global communications media outreach in Indonesia, e.g. Coordinate media responses, Media trip coordination, etc.;
  • Provide communications support for member communications in the region;
  • Develop strategic partnerships and engagement on key Earthworm projects in Indonesia;
  • Engage and manage external agencies/consultants (graphic designers, editorial writers, PR agencies, event organizers, videographers), where needed;
  • Plan and coordinate strategic events in the region;
  • Maintain database system and archive all Indonesia communication files and records (articles, photos, videos, graphics, audio memos, etc.); inventory of communication equipment; document administration; and updating and maintaining vendor database (photos/videos/designs);
  • Monitor efficacy and quality of internal communications through employee surveys and develop reports and action plan based on survey results;
  • Provide report review and translation support across various global and Indonesia programs and initiatives;
  • Facilitate cross-pollination of ideas and approaches among regions, share challenges and solutions with other regional communications managers.

Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or other equivalent higher level education/training in communication, and journalism;
  • 7 – 10 years of relevant communications experience;
  • Excellent project management skills;
  • Agility in adapting to work/organisational dynamics;
  • A strong ability to operate collaboratively;
  • Intermediate stakeholder engagement skills;
  • Proficiency in Communications tools (video, Photoshop, InDesign, website);
  • Familiar with Communications tools (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, video, website);
  • Familiar with analytics;
  • Good at storytelling.

Language skills:

  • Native Bahasa Indonesia (Written & Spoken);
  • Proficiency in English (Written & Spoken).

Personal characteristics:

  • Passion for working on issues related to sustainability, resilience, and supply chains.
  • Hands-on, practical, innovative.
  • Takes initiative, is proactive and has a positive attitude.
