TFT publish its third annual palm oil paper
News May 15, 2015

The update shares TFT's most recent experience in the palm oil sector.

As of January 2019, The Forest Trust has become Earthworm Foundation.

TFT has published its third annual palm oil paper, which shares its experiences working in the industry over the last 12 months. With the added No Deforestation commitments of Cargill and Musim Mas, around 96% of the global palm oil industry is now governed by similar commitments. With many producers and brands having taken these steps the paper takes a closer look at how they best go about implementing their new policies and impacting real transformation. This involves introducing and outlining the VT-TV model as a method to overcome the further challenges faced by the industry. The important element about those commitments, progresses and updates is that they are REAL. They exist. They are not just ideas or theories but are actively being implemented on a global scale. They are concrete steps that have been created along the journey by the palm oil industry players themselves and that we could not have imagined collaboration between businesses and NGOs, and between buyers and suppliers. They exist thanks to increasing levels of trust in the palm oil supply chain and the incredible ability that humans have to make good things happen when they put their minds and hearts to the task.
