News Apr 8, 2019

As of 1 April 2019, Wilmar is no longer a member of Earthworm Foundation. This is an amicable and mutually agreed position. Our partnership started started in December 2013, when together we embarked upon a highly ambitious plan with the launch of the industry's first fully comprehensive NDPE policy.

Earthworm Foundation continues to hold the opinion that Wilmar's leadership and actions are critical to the transformation of the palm oil industry globally. We believe that the commitment and action plan Wilmar provided on 5 October 2018, regarding actions to accelerate their NDPE, remain key to this.

Specifically to this commitment - we are no longer working together on its implementation and as such are not in a position to comment further on progress. We encourage stakeholders to seek updates directly from Wilmar both in terms of the progress against their action plan and wider compliance against their NDPE commitment.

As Wilmar is a significant actor, there will still be areas where Earthworm Foundation and Wilmar will interact. This includes the work with Earthworm Foundation members on various transformation activities linked to the Wilmar supply chain.
