Your mission

This role supports Earthworm Foundation’s impact measurement across Asia by managing and enhancing ESRI and ArcGIS digital tools. Responsibilities include administering and maintaining a growing database for global reporting, conducting data analysis, and training local project teams in digital data collection and analysis. The role requires aligning surveys with project frameworks, customizing questions, and collaborating with Regional Impact Leads to ensure effective survey design. 

Key areas of focus include:

Project Onboarding & Digital Tool Development: Setting up ESRI environments to transition projects from manual to digital data collection, developing dashboards and applications, and training field teams.

Data Management & Quality Control: Supporting impact measurement through ESRI and traditional tools like Excel, ensuring data integrity, conducting outcome and impact assessments, and preventing data duplication.

Global Collaboration: Working with a team across three continents to solve data challenges, standardize methodologies, and develop training materials to enhance data management practices.

Your profile 

The Impact and GIS Data Specialist leverages data to drive sustainable and regenerative supply chains. You have a strong interest in forests, agriculture, family farming, and social education that aligns with Earthworm Foundation’s mission. Success in this role requires attention to detail, data accuracy, and a problem-solving mindset. Your work experience and/or educational background should include:

  • Knowledge and experience in processing and interpreting data, including geospatial data
  • Familiarity with various tools to manage large datasets
  • Experience in field-based spatial data collection using digital tools
  • Experience in working with ESRI tools, i.e. ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online
  • Ability to develop geospatial analysis 
  • Advanced skills in Excel 
  • Basic skills in SQL, Python or any other programming language for data queries 

Your excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, will be key for clearly presenting technical information to a diverse range of EF colleagues. You are flexible and adaptable, which will be a great asset in your work with various tools and to respond to unique local field data collection challenges. Being a proactive team player with a collaborative attitude is crucial. Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of different regional contexts will enhance your ability to collect and analyse data effectively. Finally, a genuine passion for EF's mission and using data to make a positive impact on global initiatives will drive your success and fulfilment in this role.

Working Conditions

  • Education: Bachelor or more in relevant field 
  • Experience:2 years minimum
  • Language(s): English & Bahasa Malaysia
  • Employment: Full-time, 2 years contract
  • Start Date: 1 April or upon agreement
  • Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
