Your Role

As a local HR representative, you would be the critical part of the organization involved in hiring the right people that fit with the Earthworm culture and values. One that is great with implementation and development of HR strategies. Capable and confident in managing employee relations and compliance with local Malaysian labour laws. With involvement in performance management, training and development and administration of the local office. Your role will closely work with the Asian Regional HR Lead to support local HR implementation.

  • Recruitment and Selection, oversight of the end-to-end recruitment processes. Involvement in job description development and collaborating with hiring managers to understand the resource needs.
  • Employee Relations, involvement in handling employee grievances, conflicts and disciplinary matters. Capable of promoting a positive work environment and addressing employee concerns whist upholding the required compliance towards company policies and labor laws.
  • Performance Management, support hiring managers with performance management and appraisal next steps. Monitoring of probation periods, providing feedback and identification of areas for improvement.
  • Policy Development and Implementation. Supporting the Asian Regional HR lead and updating of local HR policies and procedures to enable consistent application across local, regional and global aspects.
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration. Supporting the Asian Regional HR lead on managing compensation structures and salary reviews. You will be the main administrator for employee benefits such as health insurance.
  • Training and Development. Carrying out training reviews and analysis to identify the needs of the organization. Engagement with training partners, to meet the training needs of the team and execution of training requests as per the annual training calendar.
  • Office Administration. Working in collaboration with the Admin team with relation to office upkeep and facilities management.

Your Profile

You must love working with all levels of people and have a good amount of experience as a human resource generalist. Importantly, one that is natural in bridging the employees and the management team and taking a neutral stand to ensure fairness. Reasons why effective communication should be your strength! You must be able to handle questions, complaints and provide information in the best means possible. You enjoy getting to know others especially when it comes to recruitment. A good eye for detail to spot the right talent, and meticulous when dealing with all aspects of the HR function.

A strong willingness to hear from others and being a good listener is important, especially one that is not quick to judge. You love to foster great relationships across the team, and this is an essential part of the job. Problem solving is your forte and you must be proactive in finding solutions to solve such HR issues. Precision is your middle name, you are a detailed oriented person and one that can handle policies, procedures and employee records with minimal supervision.

Technology is your best friend, and proficient candidates will exile in this role. Past experience in using HR software and digital tools is important for efficiently managing HR data at your fingertips. Additionally, your storytelling skills are important, you are the face of the organisation, and how you present yourself is equally important to candidates, new hires and employees within the organisation. You know how to respect confidentiality and are professional in how you handle any delicate information that you have been given.

Collaborative environments are one that you thrive in, you love keeping yourself organised and one that can work in a fast paced, deadline driven organisation. Impeccable verbal and written ability in English and Bahasa is essential. To be successful, you must have the required generalist experience covering a variety of HR functions and you must enjoy moving between different functions as and when required.

Working Conditions:

  • Degree in Human resources or Business Administration (preferable)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • To start As soon as possible
  • Full-time position
  • Open-ended contract
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken)
  • Office based role in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
  • Malaysian Citizenship
