Apical Group Ltd is one of the largest exporters of palm oil in Indonesia. It owns and controls an extensive spectrum of the palm oil business value chain from sourcing to distribution and is engaged in the refining, processing and trading of palm oil for both domestic use and international export.
In 2019 Earthworm Foundation is providing strategic support for Apical’s NDPE Implementation, working specifically on engagement of high priority supplier groups and companies. Earthworm Foundation is also providing technical support for supplier scoping visits (PSEP) and will continue to support Apical Shared Values workshops for supplier mills.
Apical is committed to engaging suppliers proactively for capacity building and progressive transformation in their supply chain. In light of criticism that companies are failing to address serious issues in their supply chains, the focus of Apical’s work has shifted to more proactive engagement: tackling problem parent groups and sensitive sourcing regions. Apical will prioritise high priority supplier groups with Earthworm Foundation and develop tactical action plans.
